They had the closest thing to a fully functional NZ skate forum but it has fallen from grace thanks maybe to their members dropping off and growing up or maybe because of their mildly paedophilic habit of indoctrinating impressionable young New Zealand boys into the ways of unremarkable mid-90s Brits.
If only Johnny Agnew was still in business, he was one of the best filmers NZ has ever had, and is one of the four Kiwis who can actually put a skate vid together. Like this one:

ReplyDeleteA good skate film should have a good variety of skateboarding in it. Not a small selective bunch like in Kirchers films. They reflect a small hated on group of skaters that arent even that great (obviously not everyone he films though, kircher is known to suck up to some good skaters to it seems). Chey etc. Thus the name Queer Dan, haha.

A good filmer wouldnt be as much of a hater as Dan Kircher and there would also be a greater acceptance of the younger better skateboarders coming through. in saying that though Kircher makes some alight vids, dont get me wrong. Definately not top 3 though, not anymore.

Have a look around, theres about 30 skateboarders in the whole of New Zealand and you should be stoked that anyones even bothered to make a video to entertain your dumbass. Who really cares who's videos better or not! Have you ever heard of personal preference? It may be that you get more enjoyment out of watching Index #1 over Forays. Doesn't mean ones better than the other. There's a little more that goes into a skateboard video than the tricks too! I'm more interested in watching any NZ video over the latest Transworld, but you think we're any better at skateboarding down here? Pffff, doubt it!
As for a "small hated on group of skaters", last time I checked no one ever spoke a bad word about B Foo, Harry Culy etc.

You should be thankful for all the dudes that have ever made a video in NZ for putting our otherwise overlooked tiny country, in the middle of nowhere on the skateboard map.
